Are you ready to get started? Alright, let’s go!

Crystal rituals are what allowed me to turn the corner on my depression and anxiety. The coming together of an action coupled with focused attention for a purpose, was a powerful combination that allowed my mind to quiet and the healing to begin.

I didn’t start out with fancy rituals and truthfully what I had been doing, I hadn’t considered it to be a ritual at all until I had healed and learned enough that when I looked back, it was evidently clear what had been happening.

In our hectic day to day lives, where we’re focusing on things that seem to be bigger, or monotonous, the subtle magic of rituals can be overlooked by many of us. In this episode we are going to dive into rituals made easy. By exploring three simple steps to create rituals with your crystals, you can reclaim the magic in your life today.

Traditional rituals is a set of actions, behaviors, or practices performed in a prescribed manner which often includes symbolic, cultural, or religious context along with specific intentions.

The purpose of a ritual is to concentrate and focus attention, and energy, on a specific purpose or intention. Whether that be a religious observance or Rite of passage, or honoring the passage of the seasons.

From rites of passage to holiday observances, to pregame chants and dances, they have been embraced because it allows for groups to come together for a shared experience, an opportunity to connect with the divine, and honor traditions and a common goal.

For many of us ritual is demonstrated to us through hierarchical organizations like churches and organized religions. And this alone can create a hurdle for anyone who is curious, or wanting to start performing their own rituals because they feel like imposters or like they are doing something they shouldn’t be doing. A little backstory here. I was not raised inside a faith or traditional religion. I was never brought to weekly services or to ceremonies and rites the way many others have been.

So when I was finding my way as an adult, I did not have many of the preconceived or conditioned expectations on what needed to happen. And I think that this is actually a benefit because it allowed for a more fluid and curiosity driven experience for me, instead of feeling the need to conform to practices that could have been modeled to me in my younger years. It also allowed me the freedom to create rituals that were tailored to my needs in the moment. Again, that weren’t tied to some other expectation held or dictated elsewhere. What I observed in my exploration was that rituals can take on many forms. Many different purposes, but they do hold a few key concepts that unite them.

Purpose and intention, the reason behind the ritual. The use of sacred space and tools, your crystals, your candles, the scents, the prayers, the meditation. And the performance of the actual ritual, or the aligned action. Which could be comprised of a variety of different components, such as prayer, acts, and offerings.

Rituals are great because they layer energy. They layer intent and purpose. They layer symbolism. Allowing it to grow and be bigger than just itself. Making your intention tangible instead of just thoughts that you think that are out there in the ether.

And how better to create a space for activating the law of attraction and the 17 second rule, then to have something to hold your thoughts, to align your emotional body with than a ritual. You’ll remember, we talked about the 17 second rule in episode 17.

While the rituals and practices you may see carried out within churches or other organizations may feel rigid or inflexible and not necessarily able to address a pressing need, the value in them is that they are regular, you know what to expect, and by people coming together their energetic potential is greater than if they were to be observed alone.

In my experience, personalized ritual provided me with so many opportunities and benefits that helped me deal with and manage what I was experiencing in my day to day life. While also giving me the ability to step outside the emotions and thoughts that were so big and all encompassing.

It first was a reason to extricate myself from the demands of my life, my day, my kids, my family. When your default way of approaching your life is to please and take care of others, even at your own expense, it can feel hard to carve out time for yourself. Having this thing, this ritual that I wanted to be doing, gave me that push to find ways to include it into my day.

Second because it was considered sacred space, it allowed me to detach, relax, and be present. When I started to create my personal rituals, my kids were still coming into the bathroom with me, so this time where my need, want, and desire to be alone was honored and enforced. And even though it came with the guilt thoughts, it felt good to have that sacred time. Third because my rituals were personalized to what I needed and wanted, the actions were also aligned with my desire. Again, that placement of focus for as few as 17 seconds was powerful.

In a time when my life was pure drudgery, when I was in the blender of all that is life, it gave me something to look forward to that didn’t hold the heaviness of my day to day life. It provided me with a sanctuary within my house and within myself.

I would have a more peaceful experience within all of the regular chaos of my daily life. I had more patience with my kids. I had more energy to do the things that I wanted to do. I had more willingness to step outside my comfort zones to try more new things. And my negative thoughts and mind chatter, were becoming quieter and less intrusive.

I think it’s important to dispel some misunderstandings or myths that may be creating a block or hurdle. So I mentioned earlier in this episode that many of us have witnessed rituals carried out in formal settings, or within religious organizations. And I want to be clear that if these are the rituals you want to be performing, then getting the appropriate training and affiliation to do this will require strict protocol and training. But for most of us listening here today, this isn’t what we’re focused on.

Rituals can be personalized and adapted to align with your values, beliefs, and intentions, and don’t need to be rooted in any particular religious doctrine or dogma. Once you remove the perceived requirement to perform rituals a certain way, you open up a whole new level of possibility and ways to be creative.

While there may be many suggestions for crystals you can use, there are no rules for what crystal you need to use. Use the crystals you have, the crystals you’re drawn to, the ones you feel are aligned with the intention and purpose you’re holding and wanting to attach additional layers of energy and support to.

Many ritual protocols can seem overly elaborate or cumbersome in their execution. And don’t get me wrong, there can be reason and value here. But you don’t need to do it that way for yourself if you don’t have the time, the tools, or the inclination.

There’s no specific amount of time you need to set aside, no required headspace you need to achieve, no mandatory time of day. All of these things, just add layers of energetic impact, but are not necessary.

An example here is let’s say, if you are wanting to do a ritual for love and relationships. You can add layers of energetic support by doing your ritual on a Friday, the day ruled by Venus. But the intention you hold and the focused thought you bring won’t necessarily change if you were to perform this ritual on a Tuesday, because that’s when you had the handful of minutes available to do the ritual.

And so often we strive for getting it just right, letting perfection become the enemy of the good.  This narrative we carry and try to live up to has stopped so many of us from trying to call in our dreams and desires through ritual.

When my clients are struggling with this type of thinking, it’s when I have them look at their existing life, the things they do on the regular. And I ask them to take notice when they are doing things that are ritualistic, but also part of their everyday mundane life.

Things like brushing your teeth. Putting on your jewelry. Washing your dishes. Consciously or not, you have created rituals in your daily lives, as you go about your regular day. You just, haven’t labeled it as being rituals. Once you allow yourself this aha moment. You will most likely be able to allow yourself a little more freedom and flexibility in trying something new, or something different, or maybe something more elaborate.

If anything, there are just three simple steps to create rituals with your crystals that I think you should focus on.

One. The intention or purpose you want to hold or amplify. This gives your ritual direction and purpose to your actions. Two. The elements and tools you want to use or include. When you choose elements and tools that are meaningful to you, you create a more focused and powerful ritual. Three. The aligned actions you want to perform in the ritual. Because these actions are aligned with your purpose, this enhances the effectiveness of the ritual, and helps you in connecting on a deeper level with your intention.

When you are no longer questioning what you’re allowed to use in your ritual, you’ll see just how many different elements you can incorporate. From things that represent the literal elements to journaling, to meditation, to movement. The options are only limited by your imagination. Think about your senses and how you can satisfy each of them in a way that is connected to your intention or purpose. I envisioned this kind of like those kid flip books where you get to build your character by using different heads, torsos and legs. Use your imagination and do what you are feeling called to do. Reference your faith for suggestions and jumping off points if you want.

But your rituals don’t need to be for anyone but you if you would rather keep them private. Your ritual can make use of supporting tools that carry meaning for you and actions and behaviors that provide you with a feeling of alignment on all levels: energetically, emotionally, and in your thoughts. The actions and behaviors you perform in the ritual can look like anything you want.

Creating rituals with your crystals can build upon the three questions we talked about in episode 18. And if you haven’t downloaded the Charmed Morning Ritual Worksheet, you can do that using the link in the show notes, and use that as a way to bring more ritual into your daily life. For those of you inside the Crystal Self Healer members portal, there are rituals you can use or reference inside each of the intention workbooks that are aligned with each phase of the moon cycle. Just to add a little more energetic, fun there.

And if you haven’t already registered, you can join me each month for the Crystal Witch New Moon Ritual where we align the energy of the moon phase to set our intentions for the upcoming moon cycle. We work with crystals that are aligned with the astrological significance of the new moon, do a guided meditation and also a card poll for additional support. Once you’re registered, the zoom link gets emailed to you as each new moon approaches so you can join me in sacred space and create magic in your life.

The more rituals you create and do, the more comfortable you become, the less you second guess and doubt yourself about whether you’re doing it right.

There is no one way other than the way that works for you. And if other people happen to resonate with what you’re doing, with your vibe, then they can join in on the experience, if you want to let them join you.

Today’s episode has been brought to you by intention and aligned action. May we all have the desire to follow our inner wisdom and set intentions that allow us to create rituals designed to help us embody. Our highest and best self. Blessed be, my friends.
